Dean Cornish 1935 - 2008

Australian Academy of Tai Chi Student Dean Cornish, quietly passed away at Calvary Mater on Friday evening 24.10.08. A respected student & friend of the instructors and all who knew him at the Academy, Dean made his way quietly and progressed steadily in spite of a persistent illness.

A minute silence and Zen standing was held at Broadmeadow by all Tai Chi students and instructors on Friday morning 31.10.08 in his honour as a candle slowly burned alongside a crystal Lotus throughout the morning until the class finished.

"The Happy Budda awakens all with joyful laughter, rhythm and dance,
The Chi of life enters the palms of hands and the soles of feet,
The body enlightens white while the soul soars."

Robin Stevenson

Robin was a student at the Monday morning East Maitland classes for a little over two years.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and found Tai Chi was of great benefit in her battle during this illness.

Sadly, Robin passed away on 1st November, 2008.

Robin's "Celebration of Life" was held on Wednesday November 5th in her beautiful garden at her home in Paterson.
She was well known and loved by many people as was evident at this service.

Rest in Peace.

Rosemary Kinna

Rosemary was a well loved instructor with the Australian Academy of Tai Chi who sadly passed away on the 12th August 2009. She had a special easy to follow teaching style that made learning the levels of the tai chi very easy to understand.

When leading the Lotus her visualisation took you out of the hall & onto the beach at sunrise with the sound of the birds & sea.

    We will miss her.
